MONTORO-BELMONT J.V. COMPLETES EVALUATION
OF DRILLING PROGRAM AT SHAVER LAKE PROPERTY, RED LAKE, ON
Further to our news release of April 21,2006, International
Montoro Resources Inc. (“IMT”) and Belmont Resources
Inc. (“BEA”), (Montoro-Belmont JV) have completed
the evaluation of their 2006 diamond drilling program on the
southern part of the 30 unit Shaver Lake property located
in Bateman and Shaver Twp. within the Red Lake Gold Camp.
The quartz veining intersected in the drilling program west
of Shaver Lake, did not return significant gold values.
The drilling focused mainly on the structural features interpreted
from geophysics. The geophysical surveys conducted over the
Shaver Lake property have identified several more significant
magnetic high and conductive anomalies in the southern and
northern portion of the property. These targets have not been
drill tested and represent additional drilling targets for
the discovery of copper-nickel-PGM mineralization.
Past drilling in the Red Lake Gold Camp has focused mainly
on gold deposits hosted within the mafic and ultramafic volcanic
rocks. These rocks appear intrusive in nature and may represent
a new potential on the property. The potential exists for
the discovery of a Kambalda Type high nickel deposits. Ultramafic
volcanic rocks are host to many high grade nickel deposits
in Australia.
This potential should be further explored on the Shaver Lake
property.
